the tunes:
I got Washes Whiter Than and Never Say Die on the same CD. This is just about Washes Whiter Than.
"I'm Thankful" starts the album off with a bang. Dont believe me? Try starting the music player on your headphones on full volume (accidentally). YEOUCH!
"Why Should The Father Bother" is a slower song, not quite near the caliber of "Road To Zion" but probably their best up to that point, if you don't count "God Gave Rock and Roll to You."
"Morning Star" has a catchy chorus. "Oh I really love you. Oh I really love you. And want to be where you are. Jesus bright Morning Star."
"Magic Mirror" and "Mary's Song" are the only ones I don't really care for. "Magic Mirror" is still like Come And Join Us, a little... immature. "Mary's Song" is an emotional kind of song, which is really good for what it is, just like "For Annie" but I personnally do not like them. Maybe its because I hate having tears come to my eyes on "silly" stuff. :)
"Yahweh Love" is another solid song with a good/great chorus. It is a little slow getting started, but the chorus will be stuck in your head all day.
I didn't have "Couldn't Find Love" on my CD. Wonder why?
"Taste and See" sounds like Jazz. It seems that there is a tuba playing in there. The song is all right, but to me it isn't Petra. They weren't established yet.
"Deep Love" wraps the album up very well. The lyrics are strong, a very good finisher for that age of Petra.
