Thoughts from someone who has hosted Petra

"Sue Dempster and I [Thomasina] each started with booking John Schlitt solo first, and I recommend this. There's a lot to learn, and a John Schlitt solo concert is more "user friendly" for a new promoter, although there will still be a near-fainting spell when you first read the technical rider! There's a whole lot to doing a show! The budget for a Petra concert is much higher, and everything involved (hotel rooms, food, travel expenses) are multiplied by many, depending, whereas with John, you start with a more manageable figure of One Terrific Fellow.

"Pray and ask the Lord about it, first, and get it settled in your heart and know for sure if He wants you to do it. Then, brace yourself, get a prayer team supporting you, and keep moving ahead, in Jesus' name! You WILL be challenged. The devil HATES these concerts; but, we all know that he can go sit on a tack!"
