About PetraFAREWELL Showcases Band’s Musical Prowess, Ministry, LegacyPetra closes three decades with electrifying live DVD Christian rock pioneer Petra brings 33 years of music and ministry to a close with Petra Farewell, the exclusive Nashville tour stop featuring over 65 minutes of live footage from this groundbreaking band. Fans from all over the world flocked to pay homage to the band and take part in the once-in-a-lifetime reunion concert, which drew the likes of Petra alumni Greg X. Volz and John Lawry to the stage. Recorded on October 4th, 2005, Farewell features Petra classics, emerging worship favorites and behind the scenes footage from the concert. DVD bonus material includes a special fan appreciation segment with the "Petheads," an interview with Newsboys’ frontman Peter Furler, in attendance at the show, and up-close-and-personal goodbyes from the band members. “Petra is undoubtedly the founder of Christian rock, and we felt it was important to have Greg, John and Bob perform together again on the same stage,” says Inpop Records President Dale Bray. “This DVD will be a true collector’s item for the millions of Petra fans who have been impacted by the music over the past 30 years,” he concludes. Last August, Petra announced its decision to retire the band at the year’s end. Throughout the fall, the band toured tirelessly to thank fans around the world for three decades of love and support. The Tennessee tour stop was especially meaningful to the band, as past Petra members joined the current lineup for a night of music and memories. PETRA, currently comprised of Schlitt, band founder/guitarist/songwriter Bob Hartman, drummer Paul Simmons and bassist Greg Bailey, has impacted generations of musicians and fans alike over the years with over seven million CDs sold, four Grammy Awards (list), 10 Dove Awards (list) and an induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
